I even witnessed one of the movers drop a $600 lamp and break it - to which he said, "just make a claim and we will make it right."I'm not a lawyer, but reading the fine print of the contract, if you don't buy the insurance (which we were not verbally offered) Skinner is only responsible for 60 cents per pound of each individual item they are moving and storing. We stored over 9,000 pounds and using the logic they are using (which I have to agree is in the fine print of the contact I signed on moving day on a tablet of some sort) they could have simply told us it was all lost and written us a check for $5400. It is not reasonable.After giving us the "legal response" - "our liability is $43.80" and "we would like to go above and beyond to make you happy ..... we will write you a check for $200" we have asked for serious consideration and are awaiting a response. I will re-post and report on that response if I get one.My advice is if you think you might want to use Skinner, get a quote that includes the insurance and make your decision based on that number.
