I even witnessed one of the movers drop a $600 lamp and break it - to which he said, "just make a claim and we will make it right."I'm not a lawyer, but reading the fine print of the contract, if you don't buy the insurance (which we were not verbally offered) Skinner is only responsible for 60 cents per pound of each individual item they are moving and storing. We stored over 9,000 pounds and using the logic they are using (which I have to agree is in the fine print of the contact I signed on moving day on a tablet of some sort) they could have simply told us it was all lost and written us a check for $5400. It is not reasonable.After giving us the "legal response" - "our liability is $43.80" and "we would like to go above and beyond to make you happy ..... we will write you a check for $200" we have asked for serious consideration and are awaiting a response. I will re-post and report on that response if I get one.My advice is if you think you might want to use Skinner, get a quote that includes the insurance and make your decision based on that number. This company is incredible. How incredible you ask? They just finished the first half of my move and are on the way to unload the trucks at our new place. I am writing this review from the drive through at Dunkin Donuts because I wanted to stop and get the crew drinks to show my gratitude. A five star review could not wait!! I highly recommend Skinner Moving and Storage. I liked them so much after the first move, I hired them for my second move! Very responsive, accurate estimates, and the staff is very professional. During one of my moves, we were missing a glass table top. Wade had it replaced in less than a week. No ifs and or buts. When things dont go 100% right - that's when you learn the most about the character of a company. This company has character.Update: i used Skinner again on March 4th 2026. It was a move with pickups at 2 places. Jarod and Robert were on time and got everything packed in record time. Delivery was also right on time (same day). They even offered to use the stairs rather than the elevator to make things go faster. I can’t recommend this company enough!
We hired Skinner to move furniture out of the way to have our floors refinished. They were on time and finished much more quickly than we expected. We had to pay for a 3 hour minimum but that’s expected. Rob and Ronnie were friendly, professional and efficient. Looking forward to them putting everything back once the floors are finished. ✅

I have moved many times in my life and this was by far the largest and smoothest move of them all. This move took tow 26-foot trucks to carry all of our belongings from Florida to Georgia. Ronnie and Jesse were the two foremen. They worked like a team to load the trucks so that everything fit. I was amazed at how efficient and fast they were with a crew of 4 helpers. They wrapped every piece of my furniture in blankets and shrink wrap before taking them out to the truck. I boxed up my things before they got there but they packaged up some things that I wasn't able to. They and all their help were extremely polite and willingly did everything I asked with no complaints. It was a hard job but they got it all done in the time allocated and they had both trucks at my new home 8 hours away exactly when they said they would. The unpacking was as smooth as the packing and they took a lot of the trash with them. I would not hesitate to hire Skinner Moving and Storage again! We had a move from an apartment to a new house with a stop at a storage unit, and Garrett’s crew (TJ, Felix, Ronnie, and James) were very professional and informative. It was our first time using movers, and we had heard rumors of certain moving companies having employees take breaks during the move, not moving very quickly, not being careful with the furniture, etc. Absolutely not a concern here at all. They were very fast, careful, and professional. The crew was great. Saturday 5 guys worked for 5 hours packing and did an outstanding job. Monday they moved everything into storage and got it in 2 units instead of three like we estimated. I saved $280. Per month and I have to rent it for 10 months until our new place is built. 7 guys loaded the boxes into the storage space. It was a great experience. They know what they are doing.

Our crew was so efficient, respectful and worked so very hard. We moved from a one story home to a 2 story townhome and the incredible amount of effort to get items up the stairs was greatly appreciated. This company offers excellent communication and customer service from first contact to post job check-in. Prices are reasonable for the quality of service. We had our move on 3/27, and Emory Moses, Bryant J. and Ronnie K. did such an amazing job. They were very careful with all of our stuff. We were close to not being able to fit everything, and Ronnie did an incredible job packing the truck. We have a baby, and they were very considerate of packing some of his things at the end so we could still use them. We moved into our new house the next day, and not a single item was broken! They placed all our items where we asked and again very carefully! Skinners did not disappoint. Jacob and James showed up on time and spent the day carefully packing. They were hardworking, and went out of their way to be sure we were happy with their work. They were careful with all our things and packed them carefully even though we were only going a short distance. They exceeded every expectation and then more. On the day of the move Jacob and James returned with Ronnie and Brian and the four of them proceeded to make the move professionally and continually asked us if there was anything additional they could to for us. If you are in need of excellent movers who are flexible, knowledgeable and extremely careful with your furniture and years of memories you should not use anyone except Skinner Moving and Storage. We had numerous changes and they handled every change we threw at them all the while being courteous and friendly. Not only are their prices competitive, they over more at a lower price then the other companies we talked to. I could not believe how thorough and caring they were with our belongings. Upon arriving with our belongings, they made sure everything was placed exactly where I wanted, even when I asked them to move them and for the first time not 1 single item was broken! Having been in the military 27 years and moving frequently I can honestly say they are the best I have ever used. I highly recommend them.
